Annual Book Sale
The Annual Book Sale is a fundraising event held at the Thayer Memorial Library on the first Saturday in October. It is in conjunction with the Horseshed Fair held on the church green of the First Church of Christ Unitarian (Charles Bulfinch, architect). This fundraiser helps support the mission of the Friends of the Thayer Memorial Library, and therefore the library itself. There is always a large variety of books and other media available for purchase, including paperbacks, hardcovers, videos, records and other miscellaneous items.
Preview Sale
The Friends have instigated a Preview Sale the Friday prior to the Annual Book Sale. This event is open to members only. A current membership is required for admission, although memberships will be available for those who would like to get a first peek at what we have in store for the general sale.
Ongoing Book Sale
Used books are also available year-round on shelves outside the Director's office on the main level of the Thayer Memorial Library. Items are paid for at the Circulation Desk in the Rotunda.
