Thayer Memorial Library Foundation

The Thayer Memorial Library Foundation, Inc. (TMLF) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization located in central Massachusetts.  The Foundation was originally organized in 1997 to raise and fund several construction projects associated with the renovation and expansion of the town library building.  Today, the organization works to maintain the Library infrastructure, both physical and technical, keeping pace with community needs.  TMLF works to maintain the historical integrity of the Library building while ensuring access to today’s information and media technologies.  The Town of Lancaster’s budget provides funding for most basic library services, but private donations are the only way the Thayer Memorial Library can achieve true excellence.

Peace DoveThrough the generosity of many donors the Foundation has provided the funding for the restoration of the stained glass Peace Window, securing this historic architectural element as the center point of the library. Other projects include the “Diffusion of Knowledge” rare book exhibit, which drew historians, neighbors, and antiquity experts from around the globe.

Your interest and support are encouraged.  If you’d like to join the effort, we welcome your participation on the team and donations.
