In 2021, Thayer Memorial Library was a recipient of a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services and the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners to offer more skill-building opportunities for younger children through play. A series of creative drama and music classes were offered throughout the grant period, and the Library play space was enhanced with new age-appropriate toys, puzzles, and other materials. The grant, titled Touch. Make. Learn. PLAY! ran from October 1, 2021 through September 30, 2022. It was a great success! The play space is open to the public for use, and toys and skill-building resources are continually added. Thank you for your support of this project!
