Public Computers
The Thayer Memorial Library provides four computers for use by the public. Located in Memorial Hall, three computers are available for browsing the Internet or for using Microsoft Office applications. Patrons may print material at a cost of $.10 per page. Patrons may reserve time by telephone or in person at the circulation desk for up to 2 non-consecutive appointments.
The Library also possesses a computer terminal in the Children’s Room purchased with money from the George K. Progin Estate. This computer is intended for children under the age of twelve. Children wishing to use this computer for browsing the Internet or to play with the educational and entertainment based games available on it may do so while the Children’s Librarian is present (generally Mondays 12 – 6, Tuesday 12 – 5, Wednesdays 11:30 – 8 and Thursday 10 – 5). No registration is required. Appointments will not be accepted by telephone.
Regardless of which computer patrons use, staff members are not available for individualized instruction.
Please review the internet usage policy prior to using one of these machines.
