Thayer Memorial Library Motion Picture Discussion Club
We are trying something different and are pretty enthusiastic about it.
Join us for the newly formed Thayer Memorial Library Motion Picture Discussion Club on Tuesday 07 April 2021 @ 6 pm.
The group will meet monthly and delve into the art of the moving picture in a variety of forms, often with mature themes. Discussions will be led by Melanie Turpin from the Library staff, who holds an M.A. in Cinema Studies from New York University. Melanie’s particular interests include fictional interpretations of history in film and how meaning is derived through cinematography.
Free access to Thayer Memorial Library’s Kanopy subscription is available only to Lancaster residents with a Library membership. Lancaster residency is not required for participation; however, non-resident members must have an alternative means of accessing the content to be discussed. Some, but not all, material may be available on DVD or Blu-ray in the CW MARS catalog.
Films discussed may contain scenes that some viewers find unsettling and parents offensive. Those under 18 should consult with their parents before registering for the Thayer Memorial Library Motion Picture Club Discussion. Please call Joe Mulé, Library Director, with any questions.
Thayer Memorial Library Motion Picture Discussion Club is limited to 14 participants.
