Going Mobile, beep beep!
Hey Folks
Mobile Hotspots are here at the Thayer Memorial Library!
Imagine a place where you can’t get an internet signal. Perish the thought and worry no more.
Through an American Rescue Plan Act grant administered by the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners [MBLC], the Library was awarded – count’em – five mobile hotspots available to cardholders to checkout and surf to their delight.
These T-Mobile mobile hotspots fit in your pocket and can be used almost anywhere to connect to the internet via any Wi-Fi-enabled mobile device. Not sure if the T-Mobile network covers your next trip to the middle of nowhere. Check this map.
Borrowing one is as easy as coming to the Library and checking it out for one week. These devices are not holdable and cannot be returned to any Library other than the Thayer Memorial Library. Further details regarding loan rules will be given at checkout.
Average 4G LTE speeds may vary, but download speeds range between 6 – 8 Mbps. There is no cap on total bandwidth use.
