Upcoming Programs

Program Information

Thayer Memorial Library offers  monthly programs related to Lancaster history on a wide variety of topics, ranging from the history of the Library to captivity narratives like Mary Rowlandson’s. Some of these programs have been recorded by Sterling-Lancaster Community Television (SLCTV), and can be found on their YouTube page. For a complete list of recorded programs and links, please see the drop down below.

A monthly newsletter with details of upcoming programs is sent out on the first of every month. The most recent newsletter can be found below. If you would like to receive this newsletter, please fill out the form below or follow this link.

If you have any questions about Special Collections programming, or would like to hold a program at the Library, please contact the Special Collections and Archives Librarian at vhatchell@lancasterma.gov.

The Special Collections Librarian hosts a monthly book group, “Read History with Tori”, which meets on the last Friday of every month to discuss books that are all about history. Most books have focused on Colonial American History, but suggestions for texts on other periods of history are always welcome!

Previous books have included 1776 by David McCullough, Bunker Hill by Nathaniel Philbrick, and Changes in the Land by William Cronon.

For more information about the group, what they’re reading and when they meet, please see our Program Calendar, or email vhatchell@lancasterma.gov with any questions.
