The Thayer Memorial Library builds collections that bring people, information, and ideas together to enrich lives and build community.
Books and eBooks:
Walk into the Thayer Memorial Library to browse stacks of books in the Children’s Room, Adult Fiction Wing or Non-Fiction Room. At home or in the Library, users can search the entire CWMars catalog, which includes all eMedia online via Libby, or limit their search to just the Children’s collection.
Parent’s Shelf:
Parenting isn’t an easy task. We offer a dedicated area to parenting and issues faced by many parents. These shelves located in the Children’s non-fiction room. Books in this area involve topics such as sleep training, discipline, gender issues, bullying, and more.
Magazines and eMagazines:
The Library subscribes to over 100 magazines and five newspapers that are delivered daily. Browse eMedia magazines via Libby here.
DVDs and streaming video:
The Library owns more than 8,250 DVDs and adds the latest feature films, motion pictures, and BBC productions weekly. Check out our streaming options here.
CDs and audiobooks:
The Library owns more than 8,500 music and audiobook titles. Patrons can also borrow using Hoopla or Libby here.
Artwork, Telescope, and other neat stuff:
The Library has a collection of unusual objects, items, and things that patrons can borrow and take home:
Artwork:
The Library lends out a variety of framed art for three months. Selections include masterpiece prints to local artist originals. Patrons can browse the Library’s collection on the second floor.
Telescope:
The Library’s Orion Starblast Telescope can be borrowed and used for viewing astronomical events, learning more about our solar system and the stars, developing a greater appreciation for the earth’s place in the universe, and for fun. Find out more, including how to borrow it, here.
