Introducing Curbside Pick-Up!

Books, DVDs, CDs and everything else to be found in any library in the CW MARS Network.

Things To Know & Do

The Library is open, and folks can come in without an appointment to browse and pick-up holds.

However, Curbside Pick-Up! will still be available for a least a bit longer. Pick-up times will be scheduled during the Library’s new services hours which are the same as before closing in March 2020.

Otherwise, place holds for Curbside Pick-up by following these steps:

  1. Log in to your account:
    • Start by following this link.
    • Enter your “Library Card Number or Username”
    • Enter your “Password or PIN”
    • If you don’t have any of this information, please send an email to jmule@cwmars.org.
  2. Search for something you want in the Online Catalog.
  3. Near your choice, click Place Hold.
  4. For “Pickup Location,” select “Lancaster Thayer Memorial Library.”
  5. For “Notify when hold is ready for pickup?” select “Yes, by Email.”
  6. Click on “Submit.”
  7. On the next screen, you should see “Hold was successfully placed.” Click “Continue.”
  8. Repeat up to 20 times.
    If you are not able to request materials online, please call 978-368-8928, Ext. #2 and leave a message that includes your Library Card Number and the titles you wish to order. 
  9. A Library staff member will call you when your hold is ready to arrange a time for Curbside Pick-Up. Please provide the name of the person who will be picking up your request(s).
  10. Requested items will be available on a cart for you to retrieve in a safe, touchless manner.  All staff and patrons are required to wear a cloth face covering or mask when picking up requests.
  11. After you’ve finished reading, watching, or listening to your media, please return it to the book drop just outside the Library’s front entrance.

Books-by-Mail is Now Curbside Pick-Up

Starting today, requests made following the Books-by-Mail request protocol will be migrated to the Curbside Pickup Service and members will be contacted when their requests are ready for pickup.

In a week or so the Library will no longer be accepting Books by Mail requests. At that time, all checkout transactions will be fulfilled through the Curbside Pickup Service.
